The finals for Islam Channels’ legendary National Qira’at Competition are showcased at the Global Peace & Unity Event. Qira’at in Arabic denotes the methods of recitation of the Qur’an with seven such recitations being accepted as having recognised chains of transmissions tracing back to the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him).
Muslims the world over proudly preserve these recitations, each known to be well-admired and strongly observed in various parts of the world. A number of international competitions are held each year for young adults to compete in the Qira’at, a perennial cause of celebration for Muslims. This landmark show presents the epic showdown between young contenders who successfully enter the final round, drawn from the best reciters from the national televised competition.
