The Global Peace and Unity Event was launched in 2005 before a lively audience of 25,000 visitors in one day. Founded in the same year and working in partnership with Islam Channel, the event has become an annual gathering for British Muslims hailing from numerous and diverse communities.

The Global Peace and Unity Event is, in many ways, a unique event. Since its launch, it has sought to become an event not only intended for Muslims but a meeting place for all who share the peaceful vision of mutual understanding, tolerance and harmonious co-existence. In pursuit of this ideal, the GPU is an event that has been gathering pace in successive years, transforming into a full weekend event with an array of features. Since 2006, the attendance has doubled to 50,000 visitors and this year, an anticipation of 60,000 visitors is set to raise the ceiling yet again. The speakers invited include Muslim scholars, politicians, academics, activists and representatives of other faith groups, denoting one of the key objectives of achieving meaningful dialogue.

The Global Peace & Unity Event gains further exposure as a live broadcast through it’s Media Partner, Islam Channel, covering the continents of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia.

This years’ Global Peace & Unity Event boasts an impressive array of Islamic scholars, high ranking political figures and legal representatives, alongside the best Nasheed artists from around the world. It will offer something to everyone.

It is underpinned by the combined effort of all those who contribute to promote global community cohesion. The speakers, performers, activities and diversity of the gathering itself create a rich and stimulating environment which can only mean a good thing when it comes to building bridges to foster global peace and respect for all communities.

To advance understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in the United Kingdom and internationally.

To promote understanding of the Islamic faith; to promote dialogue and build community cohesion across faiths and societies.

To encourage the participation of Muslims and non-Muslims in politics and to actively promote discourse through means of political representation.

To promote shared values, understanding and mutual respect for all.
