The Model Mosque Competition is a cornerstone competition run by Islam Channel. It is a unique show which seeks to highlight the role of mosques within British Muslim society. There is a wide disparity in standards between approximately 1,500 odd mosques in the UK with different mosques providing unique and effective services for their local communities. The competition judges not only what makes a successful mosque in the UK but also ways in which to improve standards across the board, thus making the award not only an act of recognition but also an important opportunity for winning mosques to lead the way in building better facilities to serve communities in Britain.
